*Peaks under something*
All in under 3 minutes
Round 1
What if I said I was taking you to Broadway and Fifth Avenue, to grab coffee?
I bet you'd think we were about to hit a nice place.
Well, not in Knoxville.
In fact, it's quite the opposite.
Last week, Knoxville Police were walking patrol when they found two people lying on a mattress in the middoe of the sidewalk.
One of them was 63-year-old Victor Coffee.
And for a man so down on his luck, he sure had an awful lot of meth on him. Over 23 gs, police say.
Now he's charged with manufacture, sale and delivery and gets to trade that sidewalk mattress for three hots and a cot.
But maybe that's was the plan.
Back in January, he got nabbed in that Same corner with the same Same amount.
Meth IS probably cheaper than an apartment in Knoxville.
Round 2
Speaking of Coffee that can take you to space, do you remember President Trump's Space Academy?
It's where the government will eventually train astronauts, engineers and scientists and Governor Lee wants it right here in Coffee County.
The Joint Industrial Park is just minutes from Arnold Air Force Base and right up the road from Huntsville.
Lee says, "Someone has to determine what the future looks like, and I've long believed that should be Tennessee."
And he's got backup from Senators Blackburn and Hagerty, plus Congressmen Matt Van Epps and Scott DesJarlais.
They're pointing to colleges all around the state as proof we've got the brains for it.
After that last story, I'd say some folks in Knoxville are already pretty high up.
Wonder why they didnt use our 3rd grade reading levels
NASA gets the final say, Let's just hope the astronauts stick to the regular coffee and not victor's
That's 2 stories down, 1 to go. And since that Space Academy might be landing in our backyard, tell me what county you're watching from in the comments.
Round 3
You might say Cody Rimmer has a bone to pick with Cumberland County. Or at least what's left of the bone.
Just over a year ago, Cody Rimmer got pulled over outside Game X Change in Crossville after a fender bender.
According to his suit, a deputy slammed him head-first onto the hood of his patrol car, then tased him in the back…SIX times.
His head hit the asphalt and he was out cold.
That's when he and another deputy jumped on him for good measure and threw him in cuffs.
Bystanders were yelling, deputies were cussing, all while Rimmer ended up with a brain bleed and getting flown to UT.
The suit claims the Sheriff's Office never investigated. The deputies are still on the job, and he STILL hasn't gotten the body cam footage.
Which is concerning because he's still facing charges, and should be entitled to it.
Is the system REALLY that slow? Or are they hiding something?
We haven't heard the deputies' side, but maybe covering up misconduct is why they're draggin' ass on our records request too
