The Weekend of Lies from State Senator Heidi Campbell
NASVHILLE – Tennessee State Senator Heidi Campbell is under fire after reposting demonstrably false claims on her X account multiple times over the last few days. The former Mayor of Oak Hill (home of the Governor’s Mansion) was elected to the TN State Senate in 2021.
Senator Campbell has always been vocal on X (formerly Twitter), but over the last few days her posts have garnered more attention than usual-and not for reasons one might hope.
They’re getting attention because they are quite obviously false.
One of the posts, originally posted by @LongTimeHistory and “quote posted” by Senator Campbell, claims that ICE deployed tear gas against pedestrians because they were “stuck in Chicago traffic”. (Continued Below)

To exacerbate the absurdity, Senator Campbell added to the post with her own words:
“This is crazy – MAGA voters are attacking American citizens- they’re criminals.“
In reality, the video she shared clearly shows that the officers were blocked in by a motorcyclist in front and cars on their left and right sides.
A statement from ICE said that the tear gas was deployed after agents were surrounded while in the middle of a chase, and multiple outlets have reported on the event.
Had Senator Campbell watched the video, or even spent a few moments reading the comments, she would have seen this and may have found another video to support her narrative.
As of the time of this publication Senator Campbell’s post was still public. It’s hyperlinked here.

If this wasn’t bad enough, Senator Campbell later reposted another piece of false information. The post, originally shared by @essenviews, showed a severely cropped image of a toddler about two years old having his hands zip tied behind his back. It was captioned:
“A Toddler being detained and zip-tied as part of an early morning ICE raid in Chicago.”
Campbell once again felt the need to add commentary with her repost:
“This is what MAGA voted for — Shackling Toddlers.“
The community notes on the post indicate that the screenshot was not what it was portrayed to be.
This time, the image was cropped from a satirical video the officer himself posted on social media of his own son back in January of 2025. The original video can be seen here.
The backlash on this one may have been too much for Campbell because this post was taken down shortly before we published this article. However it had remained up for nearly a full day.
We asked Senator Campbell multiple times for comment and she has not responded. Radio hosts Matt Murphy and Chris Hand from 99.7 WTN have also been calling on Senator Campbell to explain herself with similar results as we have had. (continued below)

Some have accused Senator Campbell of intentionally spreading false information in order to support her narrative on national politics. Just a cursory review of her most recent X posts clearly hints towards a deep hatred of federal immigration officials and for the MAGA movement.
Since the Senator refuses to engage with us we can only speculate as to what her true intentions may be.
