With the race for Tennessee governor underway, did a local Republican party donate money to democrat Jerri Green?
That's what it looked like if you were browsing through the latest financial disclosures that rolled out.
They showed a $5,000 contribution from the "Williamson County Republican Party" but — it wasnt accurate.
The Williamson Scene originally spotted the issue and A spokesman for the Green campaign told them it was a clerical error, intended to read "Williamson County democrat party"
But Williamson County Republican Chair Steve Hickey says that doesnt fully explain the situation.
He points out the address listed was also for the Republican office not the Dems PO BOX, which is more than just a simple flub up.
He also pointed out that the Williamson County democrat party self reported giving Green 7 grand, not 5. Leaving us with a $2000 discrepancy.
So to answer the question outright, no, the Williamson County Republicans did not give money to jerri green
As for explaining exactly how this political bookkeeping error occured, well, that's the 2, 5, or $7000 question, I guess.

TN Prisons are getting more and more dangerous.
Over the weekend the Facebook page "Trousdale Turner – Close it Down", which is dedicated to inmate advocacy, posted some things that really make you wonder.
Over the weekend at least 3 deaths were reported in these facilities
2 suspected ODs and a fatal poking.
The fatal poking and one of the OD's reportedly occurred at the whiteville prison, where just the other week another inmate passed.
Trousdale is where the other suspected OD occurred, a 79 year old.
That doesnt count the non fatal poking at Northeast in Mountain City or any of the other deaths weve seen over the last few months
That's not the worst part, grapes are apparently more common than fatal pokings, but staff is so limited that inmates say the guards ignore it
Now I'm not saying prison should be fun or easy, all I'm saying is that when some inmates get Xbox Pizza, and Cell phones and others get an early grave—you might need to rethink your strategy

Has anyone checked the thermostat in the netherworld lately?
The Titans actually won a game and I'm trying to see if it's frozen over!
After starting the season winless, fans were starting to wonder if the 0-5 titans might be better off playing in a high school bracket.
Sunday's game started off slow and After going down 13-0 in the first half, the offense FINALLY started putting some points on the board in the 3rd quarter
but it's the defense and special teams that really saved the day.
3 turnovers, 2 4th down stops along with a blocked punt and returning a kick for a touchdown.
And after all that they still only won by 6 points in the last 2 minutes.
The 26-20 victory over the Colts was by no means a blowout, and if you're wondering what the Titans chances at a super bowl run are, well,
lets just say Id invest in something more realistic
like winning the lottery.
But hey, at least it wasnt another loss!
