A Franklin man is accused of turning free Bibles into a personal revenue stream.

The TBI says 37-year-old Giancarlo Trejo worked for a company that distributes religious materials.

Investigators allege he handed out complimentary Bibles, then asked recipients to send payments to his personal account.

Apparently, “freely you have received, freely give” came with an undisclosed processing fee.

Agents also allege Trejo funneled fraudulent contacts to collect referral fees and used his employer’s credit card for personal expenses and travel.

A Williamson County grand jury indicted him on theft, forgery, computer-offense, and criminal-simulation charges.

He was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Williamson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

It looks like Trejo missed the entire section of these complimentary Bibles that said “Thou shalt not steal.”

Round 2

Memphis’s fight over data centers has become a fight over who gets to attend City Council meetings.

A federal judge temporarily blocked meeting bans against Representative Justin Pearson and five others, which allowed them back for last night’s meeting.

They sued after being banned following protests over a delayed data-center vote.

Pearson celebrated the ruling on his Instagram page, saying [play clip]

The proposal would pause new data centers and expansions for up to a year while Memphis focuses on developing regulations.

I just *love* how unnecessarily complicated the data center issue has gotten. Don't you?

Round 3

Tennessee fans did more than watch the Vols beat Alabama 26–10.

They apparently tried to make sure the entire state could hear it.

Neyland Stadium hit 130.3 decibels—what UT calls the highest scientifically verified crowd-noise reading in college football.

The peak came with 3:56 left in the third quarter. Tennessee had just sacked Alabama, and the Tide faced third-and-11.

The crowd cranked it up, Alabama got a delay-of-game penalty, and some players reportedly kept playing because they never heard the whistle.

That is not just home-field advantage.

That is the crowd submitting its own defensive highlight.

And it wasn’t one loud moment:

Tennessee recorded 105 separate noise events above 120 decibels.

Alabama came to Knoxville looking for a win.

Instead, they got a loss—and apparently had trouble hearing about it.

That was your TN news roundup.
