Round 1
What's the strangest thing you've ever seen blocking the road?
Whatever it is, Grundy County just 1 upped you.
Over the last few weeks they've been preparing to relocate the old Groot-Lee Post Office so that it can be restored and ultimately preserved
The building is in pretty rough shape but they only needed to move it 2.1 miles and last night they gave it a good old fashioned try
I say try, because the building seems to have had other plans. Less than a mile into their journey, it shifted and came to a dead stop.
Stuck in the middle of the road was literally an entire post office
It took several hours to clean and the building appears to have sustained some damage in the process, but eventually the roadway was opened back up.
And that's a good thing. Because there's a lot of people on that road waiting on amazon packages and those drivers would love a reason to blame the post office for a missed delivery
Jackie Lawley with the Historic Society is spearheading the restoration, so if you'd like to help with it, give him a call. I'm sure that little pit stop wasnt something they'd planned for.
Round 2
The West TN Drug Task Force made several busts this week and this time, none of them involved Kratom
The first involved something they say has actually grown extremely rare—real H.
While serving a warrant in Brownsville they found 3 grams of the stuff wrapped in a napkin along with some ganja, and scales with booger sugar dust on em
The next day, just a stones throw from that house, they made a traffic stop.
And though the driver claimed she was just a girl who loves purple and butterflies, the contents of her bag showed she liked something else—crystal!
And no, I'm not talking about the miss cleo kind.
5 separate bags totalling over an ounce were seized and the driver taken into custody.
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but There are absolutely zero butterflies at the gray bar hotel. Enjoy your stay.
That's 2 stories down, with 1 to go, yall have been coming thru clutch for us all week, so lets see if today we can smash 125 likes instead of just 100!
Round 3
You know it's serious when metro responds to a shoplifting call
A couple days ago 29-year-old Ja-mon-queia Rucker was nabbed outside the Lululemon downtown, described as a serial shoplifter.
According to metro, Rucker had a CREW and they'd just finished hitting the Lululemon in Green Hills right down the road.
When police nabbed her, she had merch from the store still in the car and a few open warrants.
How many is a few? 43.
Now, to be fair, only 27 of those were felonies. The other 16 were just misdemeanors.
Either way, doesnt seem like the judge is playing around—Rucker was jailed on a $420,000 bond.
Listen I know Lululemon demands a premium on marketplace, but it's gonna take a lotta leggings to come up with that kinda cash
